Lectors are men and women who serve the community by proclaiming the readings from sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel, at Mass. They also announce the intentions for the general intercessions when the deacon is not present and occasionally read the Psalm between the readings.
Readers must be at least in the 9th grade and have the ability to read clearly, expressively and with faith. Through their preparation of the readings, they deepen their love for the Word of God.
Training for new and current Lectors is offered on an 'as needed' basis. For information on how to become a Lector contact Victoria Smith at victoria.smith@tamucc.edu
